Good Morning,
Trump
It will be a show on Tuesday in Miami, when high security and a purely political former President Trump attempt to use a court appearance, as a stage for his dream of returning to the Presidency.
Classic Trump, will try to frame a prosecution of his careless and illegal storage of classified documents, as a political prosecution. He’s the victim whether it’s hush payments to a stripper, election interference, or something as clear as a refusal to return top secret documents back to the National Archives.
Here’s a notable voice in all of this - Former Attorney General under Trump Bill Barr who said on Fox News Sunday -
-these are the nations documents and secrets not Trumps
-the storage of the documents at Trumps Mar-a-Lago including attack plans on a foreign government, and nuclear secrets, would for anyone who cares about national security, be stomach churning
-Trump repeatedly ignored requests for return these documents for a year, and then evaded searches and the hunt for the records
-these were the states secrets, not Donald Trumps to keep
Trump “is toast” stated Barr even if half the allegations are true, he said.
Ukraine Offensive
Ukraine says it captured three villages in the Russian occupied area of Donetsk this weekend, showing the first gains in it’s long promised counter offensive.
Footage on social media showed Ukrainian troops celebrating in the neighbouring settlements of Blahodatne and Neskuchne in the Donetsk region.
Kyiv's deputy defence minister said nearby Makarivka was also taken.
Former head of U.S. army General Ben Hodges says the counter offensive really is just beginning.
He said when you see Ukrainian brigades, comprising 250 armoured vehicles ech slamming forward into Russian defensive lines then you will know it’s really begun.
We are only at the initial stage of Ukraine’s attack.
Berlusconi
Silvio Berlusconi, who revolutionized Italian television with privately owned channels that he used to become the country’s most polarizing prime minister died on Monday.
He was 86 and leaves a huge mark on Italy’s politics, whether he was dividing the nation, driving the economy into the ground, or being prosecuted for his sex-capades he was always an entertaining figure in Italy’s political landscape. He was also the most prosecuted.
He had a terrible bout of Covid-19 which he said was the worst experience of his life, and later in April 2023, doctors revealed he was in intensive care suffering from leukaemia and a lung infection.
