Gaza Hospital Explosion, And Global Condemnation
It didn’t take long before the Palestinian Ambassador to UN - “We condemn this action in strongest possible terms and hold israel responsible for this massacre, this crime”.
Overnight demonstrations broke out in Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and the West Bank hours after an explosion at al-Ahli al-Arabi hospital in Gaza killing hundreds of people.
The anger over the deaths spread like wildfire, after Hamas called for a day of rage across the world, to coincide with U.S. President Biden’s arrival to the region Wednesday.
But who is to blame? That’s unclear and Israel has promised to provide recordings and satellite imagery in its defense.
The IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus countered this morning “this was a misfired rocket by Islamic Jihad” not anything fired by Israel he said and it’s important the world understands.
The IDF has promised evidence to show “We do not target hospitals, it was clear from the beginning it wasn’t us. It’s important for World leaders, some were hasty to blame Israel, and media which takes info from Hamas controlled Gaza and not verify it”.
Make no mistake, Israel is fighting a war against Hamas, and a propaganda war with much of the Arab world as this crisis deepens, and it will only get worse.
If it wasn’t this hospital event, it would be something else as the dust rises over Gaza and hundreds of thousands attempt to flee, but have no where to go.
Those who support Palestinians want the bombing of Gaza, and the targeting of Hamas which overran towns in southern Israel killing over a thousand and kidnapping up to 250 Israeli’s, to stop immediately.
We all see what they see, which is horrible specter of innocent Palestinians caught in the cross fire of a war Israel didn’t start, but one it has vowed to prosecute to permanently stop a terror organization from ruling Gaza, and using it to launch bloody raids on Israel.
Hamas and it’s Iranian backers wanted this war for different reasons, which include blocking normalization between Israel and Saudi for example. And Hamas believes it can win a propaganda war the longer this fighting goes on, and it’s only just begun.
But to disarm and “decapitate” Hamas, Israel will have to enter Gaza, and boots on the ground attack the tunnels, and weapons factories, and slowly strangle the Hamas leadership itself which hides amongst 2.3 million people.
‘Slowly’ is the key word, because to advance too quickly endangers Israel’s ground forces which will soon enter Gaza. But too slow risks an erosion of international support which started days ago, and will increase in the aftermath of the Gaza hospital strike.
But an erosion of support in the Arab world was always inevitable. How long will Europe and the U.S. stand strong with Israel is another question, and Israel knows better than anyone the clock is ticking.
