Putin's War With Ukraine
The Russian President Vladimir Putin has revealed much about himself this week, as his ground troops pound Ukraine brutally with no regard for civilians fleeing by the millions.
Putin has no conscience, is morally dead, and will destroy Ukraine if he can’t control it, and damn civilians caught under the treads of his war machine. It’s bloody and tragic whats happening as we see missiles strikes on apartment buildings in Kyiv, as word spreads 10 people were killed lining up for bread in another city, and in Mariupol a theatre with over a thousand people sheltering inside was struck by missiles.
"The only word to describe what has happened today is genocide, genocide of our nation, our Ukrainian people," the city's mayor Vadim Boychenko said in a video message on Telegram.
"We have difficulty understanding all of this, we refuse to believe, we want to close our eyes and forget the nightmare that happened today," he said.
Of course Russia has claimed it didn’t hit the theatre, and it was blown up by members of the far right Azov battalion. More claims of nazis by Russia trying to justify its carnage.
President Biden has called Putin “a war criminal” and the Kremlin has countered that it’s “unforgivable rhetoric”. But it’s probably an understatement.
Putin seems immune to the deaths and destruction. He is bent on winning in Ukraine and he has dehumanized his enemy which is one of the fundamental and key elements of committing genocide.
Yesterday Putin in a Government meeting, starting ranting about Russian’s who don’t support his campaign of destruction in Ukraine, and questioned if they are real Russians. Putin revealed his anger barely being able to catch his breath at one point. Unless thats a sign of physical illness?
He said the west will bet “on a fifth column of national traitors” in Russia. He called out Russians who have villas in Miami or on the French Riviera, “who can’t survive without foie gras, oysters, or so called gender freedoms” accusing them of mentally being there but not here. “Not with our people, not with Russia” he said.
This is treacherous and shocking language used by Putin, as he turns on his own people who travel or are connected to the U.S. or Europe as he labelled them “willing to sell their own mother”. Putin is drawing battle lines with anything or anyone Western.
Putin accused “the collective West of trying to split our society”, of trying to “provoke a civil confrontation in Russia” with a goal of destroying Russia, and he said Russians will be able to see the “traitors and scum” and spit them out “like midge (flies) that accidentally flew into their mouths”. And he said a “self purification of society” will make Russia stronger.
Putin has always been crude and somewhat crass in his remarks including in Chechnya when he ordered his forces to destroy Grozny. He called everyone “terrorists that should be bombed in their outhouses”.
But these remarks yesterday are so outrageous and jaw dropping for Russians, its created reverberations internationally as many Russians vow not to return to their country, and others are leaving. Journalists, business people, artists and ballet dancers trying to leave Russia and it tragic.
Putin seems unhinged in these remarks. Blind with anger even towards his own people. It may be a sign he is losing in Ukraine and that he knows it. But it also lays the ground work for the Kremlin to seize and renationalize property and businesses owned by Russians he now describes as “traitors and scum”.
This is a great unravelling of Russia from the World economy, and anything Western. An angry about-face as the Kremlin is marginalized and condemned by a world that won’t stand by and watch Putin kill innocents in Ukraine.
The conflict it seems will only escalate and become more vicious and brutal in the coming days led by an isolated and deranged Russian leader with no regard for Ukraine and now also for his own people.
Have a good day everyone. Be generous and take care.
